Facebook experiencing problems

Facebook was experiencing an outage for the second day in a row today. People were not only having troubling getting access to the page around the UA but cases were reported globally as well. AlertSite, a Web performance management company, reported that Facebook went down around 2:30 p.m. ET. Between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the site only had 38.46% availability. AlertSite also reported that Facebook was down at all 12 of its monitoring locations throughout the U.S. Technical support does not know the cause for why the site is down, they have just received complaints. Until Facebook gets their Domain Name System application back in order some people who have sites connecting to it will have some difficulty. The company is not involved with Facebook, but they do monitor websites. Some people could see the main page but many others were struggling. Product Manager, Josh Hrinik said, “”performance metrics show that we are unable to get to their server, we are unable to render their page and that has happened in the past.
