Fisch has named Will Plummer the new starting quarterback

Arizona’s head football coach Jedd Fisch announced that Will Plummer will replace Gunner Cruz as the team’s starting quarterback for this Saturday’s game against Northern Arizona University.

Cruz started the Wildcats’ first two games but ended up getting pulled in the third quarter against San Diego State for Plummer. He finished with 336 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Brigham Young University but struggled versus San Diego State with 70 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Plummer had 109 passing yards and one touchdown in the team’s late comeback attempt against SDSU.

Fisch also said that quarterback Jordan McCloud will see increased work in practice this week.
