This past weekend the women’s golf team traveled to Stanford, Calif. to play in the Stanford Intercollegiate tournament. After the three-day weekend, the Wildcats finished tied for third with USC, finishing four strokes below par. Stanford finished second with five strokes below par and ASU finished first in a landslide victory with 10 strokes under par.
Arizona freshman Vivian Hou finished second individually, putting in an excellent performance, finishing seven strokes under par. Junior Yu-Sang Hou, who also put on a fantastic show, finished tied for fifth with three strokes below par. Sophomore Ya Chun Chang finished just outside the top 20, tied for 21st with two strokes above par. Freshman Gile Bite Starkute finished tied for 40th with six strokes above par.
Stanford’s Angelina Ye and ASU’s Linn Grant rounded out the top three with Vivian Hou. They finished with 10 strokes below par and six strokes below par, respectively.
Arizona women’s golf heads to Atlanta, Ga., for its next tournament. The East Lake Cup on Oct. 28-30 will be available to watch on the GOLF Channel.
