UPDATE: Pac-10 launches new website, will rename itself next year

The Pacific 10 Conference launched its new website today, complete with a new logo and a powerful introduction video.

At a news conference in Manhattan, commissioner Larry Scott said that next year — when Utah of the Mountain West and Colorado of the Big 12 join the league — the conference will also change its name.

“”We will be mathematically correct going forward,”” Scott told the Associated Press.

Scott, along with Arizona head football coach Mike Stoops and his UA quarterback, Nick Foles, are in Bristol, Conn., to meet with ESPN today and tomorrow.

Foles was joined at the ESPN headquarters by top Pac-10 quarterbacks Matt Barkley of USC, Jake Locker of Washington and Andrew Luck of Stanford.

Along with other coaches, Foles’ and Stoops’ Pac-10 tour will end in Pasadena, Calif., on Thursday, where football coaches will hold the annual football media day.

Scott, in his second year as the Pac-10 commissioner, has made it clear he wants to rebrand the conference into a prominent national name. The additions of Utah and Colorado are also part of his plan to sign a new TV contract.
