Three Arizona players scored double-digit points and the Wildcats won their eighth game by 10 or more points, defeating the Miami Hurricanes 69-50 in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic Sunday night.
The No. 4 Wildcats moved to 11-0 on the season, their best record since the 1987-1988 season, in which Arizona advanced to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament.
Against Miami, the Wildcats’ turnover struggles continued, as they once again had more turnovers than assists, with 16 and 11, respectively.
Senior forward Kevin Parrom provided energy and a valuable scoring option for Arizona, scoring 11 points in 21 minutes. The Wildcats were led in scoring by senior guard Mark Lyons, who scored 19, and freshman center Kaleb Tarczewski added 13 rebounds.
Arizona head coach Sean Miller won his 200th career game and solidified a spot in the Diamond Head Classic championship game against San Diego State, to be played Tuesday.
