Arizona kicker Casey Skowron (41) celebrates after his sucessful last minute field goal during the 4th quarter of Arizona’s 27-26 win against Washington at Arizona Stadium on Saturday.

The Arizona Wildcats defeated the Washington Huskies 27-26 on a last second 47-yard field goal from kicker Casey Skowron Arizona’s first home day game of the season.

Missed tackles and dropped passes plagued the Wildcats throughout the game, but they somehow came down with a victory. The Arizona defense forced two turnovers on Washington quarterback Cyler Miles. Skowron scored 15 points for Arizona by himself, faking a field goal and running for an 18-yard touchdown and also converting a 35-yard field goal. He also kicked the game-winning 47-yard field goal.

Washington running back Dwayne Washington rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns. The Huskies had 504 yards of total offense, compared to Arizona, which had 375 offensive yards. Washington cornerback Sidney Jones intercepted quarterback Anu Solomon twice.

Arizona struggled on converting third downs going 3-for-15. Solomon rarely had time to throw and consistently struggled. Solomon threw for 242 yards on 17-of-39 passing attempts and two interceptions. Running back Nick Wilson led the Wildcat rushing attack with 104 yards and two touchdowns on 30 attempts. Leading the receiving corps were receivers Samajie Grant and Trey Griffey who had 85 and 63 yards, respectively.
