    University Blvd.

Located just a short walk from the center of campus is East University Boulevard, a popular place for many UA students to peruse. Here, restaurants and retail stores combine to create a great place for students to hang out, eat, shop and most importantly – spend money.

    Pita Pit

If you are sick of union food and don’t want to order Papa John’s for the sixth time in a week, Pita Pit is a great option because it accepts CatCards and it delivers. A college staple, the “”build your own pita”” place is perfect for picky eaters and students who will eat just about anything. Also, it is a short walk from Coronado, Arizona-Sonora and Kaibab-Huachuca dormitories. While the inside is fairly small, it is a fun place to meet friends for lunch during the school day. Remember to sit outside and people-watch, or take your food to go and eat out on the UA Mall. 845 E. University Blvd.

    Urban Outfitters

No college campus would be complete without an Urban Outfitters, and luckily for UA students, there is one located conveniently close. While it can be viewed as a normal clothing store for both men and women, Urban can offer what many of the other shops on University can’t: the best sidewalk sale of the year. From Aug. 16-18, the store has racks of merchandise placed out on the corner with prices marked down to as low as $5. Nothing creates more excitement within the college community than being able to dress for less than $20. The store boasts two stories of shopping, with the larger floor level reserved for the women’s section and the upstairs reserved for men’s. This is the place to go if you are looking for a new pair of Vans or want a “”rocker chic”” inspired outfit. The store also offers eclectic books and houseware items. 901 E. University Blvd.

    Silver Mine Subs

Located just off of East University Boulevard on North Tyndall Avenue is Silver Mine Subs. Famous for being open late all week long, many college students become dependent on Silver Mine’s sandwiches after a long night of study sessions or partying. This restaurant offers cold subs, hot subs, choices for vegetarians, soup, salads, desserts and catering if needed. Its famous “”Monster Sub”” boasts four different types of meat and lots of good toppings. 760 N. Tyndall Ave.

    Pitaya

Opened in 2006, Pitaya is a fun place to stop in during a lunch break, after classes have ended for the day or during a weekend shopping trip. The quaint shop offers all kinds of options for the shopaholic women of the UA. The boutique-style setup also makes it appealing to the eye. Upon entering, one will find racks of clothes separated by color and style. The store offers all styles for all occasions and price ranges. Casual tops and bottoms range between $20-$40, while more dressy options range between $30-$60. They also offer a small collection of inexpensive shoes in cute colors and styles, and plenty of accessories. Whether you use daddy’s credit card or your own hard-earned cash, this is a great place to shop. 943 E. University Blvd.
