    Things to know today

    Join Shelton’s inauguration

    Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the procession for President Robert Shelton’s inauguration Oct. 26. All participants must wear academic regalia and meet at one of four locations, depending on their college, at 2:15 p.m. The inauguration begins at 3 p.m. in Centennial Hall. For more information about the procession, contact Pam Bridgmon at 621-1342.

    One in eight U.S. adults exhibit signs they are addicted to the Internet, according to a Stanford University study released this week. The study observed 2,515 Americans’ online habits. The addicts spent 30 hours online weekly, outside of “”essential or work-related”” computer use.

    Family Weekend

    Hide your dirty socks and magazines – the campus will be abuzz with parents this weekend. Family Weekend festivities include a volleyball game near PSU, a murder mystery dinner, an open house at the Phoenix Science Operations Center, and a flashback swing dance. Children’s activities are also available.
