The UA’s Vice President and Chief of Staff Jacqueline Mok, has resigned from her position after nearly two decades at the UA.
Mok announced her resignation in an email sent to university administrators Monday evening. She will be accepting a position as the vice president, chief of staff and secretary to the board of trustees at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
In the email, Mok mentioned her 15-year tenure at the UA, beginning in the College of Fine Arts as assistant dean before taking roles in administration, and added that it has “prepared me well for the opportunities ahead at the Johns Hopkins University.”
President Eugene Sander, speaking on behalf of the university, said only positive things about Mok in an emailed statement.
“Jacqueline Mok is an exceptional academic leader,” Sander said. “Her work as provost and chief of staff will be missed by all at the UA. This position at Hopkins is a great opportunity and we all wish her the very best in the future.”
Mok’s final day at the UA is July 31, but she said she plans to use accrued vacation leave from July 16 until the end of the month.
