‘Deadly Finger Sandwich’
David Bellows from the School of Biological Sciences at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand will speak on “”Sea Cucumber Makes a Deadly Finger Sandwich: A Chemi-genomic Approach to Identify Marine Natural Product Bioactivity and Mechanism of Action Using the Brewer’s Yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.”” This will be held in Life Sciences South in room 240 at 12:30 p.m.
‘Egyptian Scarabs’ talk
The scarab is the single most abundant artifact to have survived from ancient Egypt. UA Regents’ Professor Richard H. Wilkinson examines these important artifacts and its incorporation into Egyptian symbolism, religion and art in his book “”Egyptian Scarabs.”” This event will be held at the UofA Bookstore at 4 p.m.
