Community Chatter: If you saw a severe crime occurring on campus, would you stop it?

“If there are weapons involved, I am not going anywhere near there, but I would call the cops. If I had a gun I might stop it. Overall, I might just make some racket.”

-Laura Freeman,
English and creative writing super senior

“I would. I am pretty much a superhero, so I definitely would. I have weapons always built in, so it’s good.”

-Sean Estrada,
First year law student

“If there is a gun involved, I would just call the cops.”

-Abigail Conchrane,
Creative writing senior

“Yes, I would step in. I would use my brute force.”

-Keith Terry,
First year law student

“Uh, depends on what crime, but I would probably try to step in and say ‘knock it off’ and split them up, but it depends on the situation. If it was severe like guns, I would call the police.”

-Aaron Flores,
Business economics senior

“Sure, yeah I would stop it, physically. Yeah, I would defiantly get in there.”

-Jacob Bush,
Economics senior

“Are there weapons involved? Do I have a weapon? If not, then I would probably just call the cops. I would say it depends on the crime. If it is too severe, I would call the police.”
