Conquer the Kitchen: Easy Pita Pizza

    • 1 large pita pocket
    • 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce or paste
    • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1 tsp olive oil
    • Garlic powder, basil, and oregano to taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place pita on cookie sheet. Spread olive oil on to the top of the pita in an even layer.

Using the back of a spoon, spread tomato paste evenly on the center of the pita.

Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce, leaving a quarter inch bare to leave room for a “”crust.””

Place in oven on the top rack for 8-10 mintues, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Let cool for 3 minutes; slice.

For Veggie Pita Pizza: Add 1/8 cup each of diced mushroom, green bell pepper, black olives and onion after step three.

Hawaiian Pita Pizza: After step three, add 1 diced slice of precooked deli ham and 1/4 cup of drained canned pineapple.
