The Las Vegas Strip is definitely a great place to go when you want to party. After a while, though, the clubs, bars and restaurants can get old. Believe it or not, there are plenty of places located off the Strip that are more fun than tourist-packed places like Margaritaville. Plus, they are generally less expensive. Here are some suggestions on how to branch out a little.

Firefly on Paradise

Located a few blocks from the Strip, Firefly offers a cool, laid-back atmosphere with great food. The restaurant is a tapas bar, offering all kinds of great Spanish cuisine. Don’t leave without trying the Sangria; it’s to die for.

The Red Room Saloon

If you are tired of the typical overcrowded clubs and bars on the Strip, the Red Room is somewhere you might consider going. Though it’s still crowded, the bar isn’t as stuck up as a lot of the clubs you will find on the strip. The DJ plays great techno music, and the bartenders are really friendly.

The Whiskey Nightclub
2300 Paseo Verde Parkway

This is definitely a place you’ll love. The Whiskey is in nearby Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas, and is housed inside the Green Valley Resort and Spa. There is no cover charge, drinks are a little cheaper than what you’d find on the Strip and the DJ plays great music all night. If you don’t like dancing, the club also has a patio to chill on. A lot of locals hang out at this club, so it’s also a great place to go when you are tired of the sleazy tourists getting all up on you.

’80s Night at Club Madrid (featuring the Whip Its)

Although the casino will remind you of the ones you find on the reservation in Tucson, Friday nights at Club Madrid are full of ’80s fun. The club features the Whip Its, a cover band that performs all the well-known songs from the decade. Drinks are fairly inexpensive, and there is no cover for ladies.
