• Defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys Rob Ryan was fired Tuesday. The Cowboys are looking to go a different direction due to this season showing an inconsistent defense.
• Missy Franklin took home four gold medals and a bronze over the summer, but was anxious about her high school meet against rival Highlands Ranch. Franklin stands by her passion for competition and being a role model, which led her to continue high school competition.
• This year’s baseball Hall of Fame threw a curveball today when nobody received the 75% vote to earn a spot. Candidates such as Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were rejected, potentially due to steroid use.
• Reports say the Maloof family is close to a deal with Seattle billionaire Chris Hansen that could move the Sacramento Kings to the city who once boasted the Supersonics. The Maloofs however, have a reputation for backing out of deals, and a relocation can be widely disapproved.
• There are speculations that UCLA head coach Jim Mora was contacted by the San Diego Chargers to take on the head-coaching position. However, it sounds like Mora has more incentive to remain with UCLA.
