After an impressive showing in Seattle last week, several members of the Wildcat cross country team earned All-Region honors.
Sophomore Lawi Lalang ran the fastest time at regionals once again for Arizona, just as he did last season, with a time of 29:02, and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Senior Stephen Sambu was also awarded All-Region and qualified for the NCAA Championships coming up on Nov. 17 with a time of 29:38.
The women’s All-Region candidates include senior Jen Bergman, who had a strong finish in her 6K with a time of 19:52 and landed a third All-Region honor in three Regional contests.
Senior Elizabeth Apgar also showed out for her second straight All-Region mention with a 23rd place finish, and a time of 20:15.
Junior Elvin Kibet (second straight) and sophomore Nicci Corbin were honored as well.
