Mars photos to arrive on Earth today
The first pictures from the UA-built High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment camera are expected to be processed early this morning, HiRISE officials said. The camera, the most powerful one sent outside Earth orbit, is on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which is currently settling into a stable orbit.
After the camera takes the first set of images, it will hibernate until it settles into orbit and begin photographing the surface of the Red Planet in September.
