    3 things to know today

    Talk about tuition

Students can share their thoughts about tuition at a town hall meeting tonight from 6 to 7 in the Tucson Room of the Student Union Memorial Center. Provost George Davis, Vice Provost Jacqueline Mok and Associated Students of the University of Arizona President Erin Hertzog will answer questions and discuss the university budget. Feedback will be used for this year’s student tuition proposal. Tuition will be set at the end of the month.

Dia de los Muertos and All Saints’ Day

Today All Saints’ Day honors all of the saints of the Chatholic Church, many of whom were martyrs, while Dia de los Muertos celebrates the memory of deceased ancestors. Dia de los Muertos is a national holiday in Mexico. All Saints’ Day began in the fourth century and was observed in May, but some believe it was moved to November to downplay Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, which Christian religious leaders branded as “”pagan”” holidays.
