Men’s basketball senior guard Hassan Adams’ pretrial conference stemming from DUI charges was postponed yesterday at the bequest of his lawyer.

Adams’ attorney, Stephen Waitt, told the Tucson City Court judge that the plea is still being worked out with Adams, and the pretrial conference was rescheduled for May 5.

Adams’ separate case on a charge of disorderly conduct has seen three such postponements, the most recent coming Thursday, when the hearing and pretrial conference were pushed to May 3.

Adams was charged with driving under the influence at 12:25 a.m. March 5 after he was caught with a blood-alcohol level over 0.08 and speeding between 1 and 10 mph over the limit. Following the arrest, he was suspended from play in the Pacific-10 Conference Tournament by the athletics department, which cited a violation of team rules. He was allowed to rejoin the basketball team for the NCAA Tournament.

The disorderly conduct charge stems from Adams’ early-morning arrest Dec. 11 after he disobeyed police orders to leave a party in the parking lot of his apartment, according to police reports.
