The University of Arizona’s ticket allotment to the 2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl has been allocated, athletic department officials reported late Tuesday afternoon.
Because the allotment for Holiday Bowl tickets is currently sold out, tickets will not go on sale to the general public as scheduled at 6 p.m. through UA’s online ticketing system.
Each school – Arizona and Nebraska – was allocated 11,000 tickets for the showdown game between nationally ranked teams set to take place at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on December 30 at 5 p.m. Arizona season ticket holders and Wildcat Club members were given an exclusive early request window for bowl tickets that began last week and closed at Noon on Tuesday. The early request window was offered to Arizona football season ticket holders and Wildcat Club members as a benefit for their continued support of the program.
The Wildcats were officially invited to the Holiday Bowl on Sunday and less than 48 hours later ticket requests reached the allocated 11,000 seats for the school before sales could be opened to the general public on Tuesday evening. UA officials will process all requests received through Noon on Tuesday and, in the event that any additional tickets become available, those tickets will be available to the general public.
