The Arizona men’s basketball team continued their hot streak on the recruiting trail Wednesday, securing their fourth commitment of the 2019 class when four-star guard Terry Armstrong chose the Wildcats over New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Armstrong, a 6-foot-6 prospect, is rated the No. 57 recruit nationally, according to the 247 Sports Composite, and is the fifth-ranked shooting guard in his class along with the second-ranked player in the state behind only another University of Arizona commit in point guard Nico Mannion.
The addition of Armstrong to an already strong class moves Arizona to 247 Sports’ No. 2 recruiting class for next season.
Armstrong joins Mannion, Josh Green and Christian Koloko in the Wildcats’ 2019 class. Cornell graduate transfer Stone Gettings will also join the Wildcats, as Sean Miller has said he is hoping to add five or six recruits total.
Armstrong is originally from Michigan but moved to Arizona last year to play at Bella Vista College Prep, which replaced Aspire Academy. His coach there was Kyle Weaver, who coached former Wildcat DeAndre Ayton at Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix before taking over at Bella Vista.

Armstrong took an official visit to campus earlier this month and seemed to enjoy the overall atmosphere.
“The visit was good,” Armstrong told 247 Sports. “It was an unofficial, but everything was really good, as I knew it would be. We got to tour the campus, talk with the coaches and see how everything is working.”
The commitments of Green and Mannion also seemed to make a big difference for Armstrong, considering the whirlwind that has surrounded the program this year.

“Arizona basketball has a lot going on right now,” Armstrong said to 247 Sports. “With Mannion and Green committing, everything is back to where it needs to be, and I love stuff like that.
Armstrong is a player who can be a problem in transition for opponents. An elite athlete, Armstrong has no problem finishing through contact around the rim, regardless of who is in the way. His length also allows him to consistently get his shot off against defenders at all three levels and he has a reliable 3-pointer.
Barring no early entries or transfers, Armstrong will join a crowded backcourt in 2019. Arizona will potentially return six players with significant experience playing in the backcourt next season, along with the commitments of Green and Mannion.
