After a weekend off, the Arizona men’s tennis team will play a pair of indoor matches this weekend, starting today against TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Our schedule is very competitive this year and that goes for this weekend as well,” men’s head coach Tad Berkowitz said.

With just a day to rest in between matches, the Wildcats will travel to Norman, Okla., on Sunday to play the Oklahoma Sooners at the Gregg Wadley Tennis Pavilion.

“The guys work hard day in and day out,” Berkowitz said. “It’s just a matter of gaining some confidence with their game when playing good teams.”

Meanwhile, the Arizona women’s tennis team looks to continue its undefeated streak at home as it hosts two matches this weekend.

On Saturday, the Wildcats are matched up against Sacramento State, with play beginning at 11 a.m. at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

On Sunday, Arizona will take on Saint Mary’s for the second time at 11 a.m.

In the last matchup between the two teams on Feb. 21, 2010, the then-ranked No. 59 Wildcats upset No. 43 Saint Mary’s 4-2.

“This is a very important home weekend for us,” women’s head coach Vicky Maes said. “At times we have struggled with slow starts, although I feel we are doing a much better job now. We know we can win these matches and that confidence is a direct result of the improvements we have made as a team so far, in doubles as well as in singles.”
