    3 things to know today

    Don’t give a dog a bone

    The Food and Drug Administration announced yesterday that in addition to poisonous pet food, contaminated dog biscuits have also surfaced. Biscuits manufactured by Sunshine Mills, whose products are carried in pet stores such as PetSmart, were contaminated with potentially toxic wheat gluten. So, next time your dog sits and stays, give it some leftover pizza or just a pat on the back.

    Today is Good Friday, the day Christian faiths commemorate as the day Jesus was crucified. Prayer times and services will be held throughout the day at numerous churches in the area.     Don’t laugh – it’ll come out your nose

    Milk could help smokers quit, according to a study published in the April 2007 issue of the journal Nicotine and Tobacco Research. A study of 209 smokers found that consuming milk worsens the taste of cigarettes, which could make quitting easier. Meanwhile, 45 percent of the smokers said alcoholic beverages enhanced the taste of cigarettes.
