An El Paso, Texas, couple announced today they have donated $10 million to the University of Arizona athletics department and its facilities improvement plan.
The donation from Jeff and Sharon Stevens will primarily go towards the football team’s north end-zone improvement plan and is the largest gift to Arizona Athletics ever.
“”Sharon and I are really excited to be part of this plan,”” the Stevens said in a press release. “”We feel it is the absolute right time to do this, and we are excited about the future of Arizona Athletics.””
At a press conference this afternoon, Jeff and Sharon Stevens addressed the media alongside Athletic Director Jim Livengood, football coach Mike Stoops and assistant athletic director Erika Barnes.
Jeff Stevens is the current director and president of Western Refining Inc. located in El Paso.
