    3 things to know today

    No school Monday

    In recognition of Veterans Day, classes will not be held Monday. In October 1954, President Eisenhower called on all citizens to observe the day by remembering the sacrifices of all those who fought gallantly to promote enduring peace.ÿ He referred to the change of name to Veterans Day in honor of the servicemen of all American wars.ÿÿ

    Calling all hairy males

    Neutrogena is asking college students to send in photos of male students on campus who would look best without facial hair. People can vote for their favorite candidate, and the top 30 men will get shaved on campus Nov. 15 by barbers on the UA Mall. The winners will also get $250 and the top choice will get $1,000. To vote or submit a candidate, visit www.shavehisface.com.

    Student Showcase today

    The Student Showcase, hosted by the Graduate and Professional Student Council, will kick off today in front of the Main Library at noon. The annual event will feature research and exhibits by students ranging from fine arts to molecular biology. The awards ceremony will be held Saturday at noon.
