No. 4 UCLA at No. 8 Arizona softball

Baseball is easily my favorite sport to watch, but the place to be tomorrow and Sunday may not be Sancet Stadium, but Rita Hillenbrand Stadium. The highly-ranked Bruins are hot and currently undefeated in the Pac-10. Luckily for the Wildcats, Tucson days are hotter and Taryne Mowatt will bounce back from being roughed up by No. 1 ASU Wednesday night to split with the Bruins.

I was in preschool the last time ASU beat Arizona softball in Tucson. And just when everybody thought your back-to-back national champions would finally conquer ASU in one sport, the Devils continued their victory streak in football, basketball (twice), baseball and now softball. Enough motivation to destroy UCLA this weekend? I think so.

I think the No. 8 Arizona softball team will lose to UCLA, but it will be close. At the beginning of the season the Wildcats were ranked No. 1, but they have been progressively losing their touch. The team’s momentum is down, especially after the tough loss against No. 1 ASU Wednesday night, when Taryne Mowatt gave up four home runs. I’d like to see a change of pace, but I don’t think they can pull it together in time.
