Conservation lecture
Introductory lecture teaches simple and complex water harvesting methods. Discussion focuses on passive ways to redirect water for immediate use and active ways to capture water for later use. This class will take place at Pima County Cooperative Extension, 4210 N. Campbell Avenue Tucson, at 9 a.m.

Join Gary Paul Nabhan, world-renowned ethnobiologist, conservationist, essayist and the author of two new books – “”Where Our Food Comes From: Retracing Nikolay Vavilov’s Quest to End Famine”” and “”Renewing America’s Food Traditions: Saving and Savoring the Continent’s Most Endangered Foods.”” Nabhan will discuss and sign copies of his book at the UofA Bookstore at 4:45 p.m.
Latino/a Pride Week
This week is the first-ever Latino/a Pride Week in Tucson – a time for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning Latinos and their allies gather and celebrate community. The community is invited to this engaging panel discussion about the intersection of Latin and LGBTQ culture. They will be meeting in the Chavez building room 205 at 5 p.m.
