Starting this fall, UA Athletics will expand its broadcasting of men’s football and basketball games to over 2 million households throughout Arizona.
The new Arizona Wildcats Sports Network (AWSN) will broadcast select Pacific-10 and regional football and basketball games across a statewide network of television stations. ASWN will not only produce the games, but also manage all advertising.
The new network will include local television stations KGUN-TV(Channel 9), KWBA-TV(Channel 58) and Phoenix-based AZTV-7, which is broadcast throughout the state.
In addition, the AWSN will stream live game broadcasts through all-access subscriptions to UA Athletics’ official website, which will cost $10 a month.
Tom Duddleston, UA sports information director, emphasized the scope of the new broadcast network.
“”AWSN will bring Arizona Athletics to a worldwide audience,”” Duddleston told the Summer Wildcat.
The network will produce UA’s football season opener against Central Michigan, as well as the home game with Northern Arizona. Broadcast selections for basketball are yet to be made.
