Arizona men’s basketball coach Sean Miller announced Monday that freshman center Sidiki Johnson was suspended indefinitely for violation of team policy, according to a press release from Arizona Athletics.

Johnson, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward from the Bronx, has played seven total minutes and appeared in three games for the Wildcats this season. He averages 0.3 points per game and has one block and two rebounds on the season.

Johnson is one of four freshmen that joined Arizona this season.

He was previously dismissed from his high school team, Oak Hill Academy, by coach Steve Smith for an unspecified violation of team rules. Johnson had previously played with St. Raymond’s (Bronx), and then at St. Benedict’s (Newark, N.J.) before arriving at Oak Hill.

No. 23 Arizona hosts San Diego State on Wednesday in McKale Center at 6:30 p.m.

“Like all of our four freshmen, there’s a transition from high school,” head coach Sean Miller said in his press conference on Monday. “He’s working through transition.”
