    Savannah Douglas
Savannah Douglas / The Daily Wildcat Phil Maloney is a bar tender at the Trident Grill. Maloney enjoys working during the weekdays due to regular customers and an enjoyable happy hour.

What’s your favorite drink to make?

    Bourbon, old-fashioned.

    Least favorite?

Anything with “sex” in the title. The titles … distract me.

    Who’s your most memorable customer?

Gabrielle Giffords. The actor John Heard, who’s in “Sharknado,” by the way. Assorted Navy SEALs.

What’s a drinking trend you’d like to see go away?

Cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon. I just think its time has passed, and I don’t think it’s particularly good beer and we happen to have 24 delicious beers on tap. Whenever I have to reach for a can of PBR, it just feels like a crime against beer.

What’s the best way to piss off a bartender?*

Just be extremely demanding when the bar is obviously busy, and you know I’ve already made eye contact and you know that I’m going to be with you in a second.
    *
How do I make a bartender happy?*

Just the old Golden Rule: Treat others as you like to be treated.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen happen in a bar?

Someone being tattooed at the end of the football game as the result of a bet. Somebody lost a bet and had to have the opposite team’s logo tattooed. I think it was a Vikings loss to the Redskins.
