The Arizona women’s basketball team fell to the University of Oregon 68 to 66. This is Arizona’s second loss in three games.

Arizona was led by Shaina Pellington and Bendu Yeaney, who scored 14 points each. Pellington scored 14 points while shooting 45% (5/11) from the field. Yeaney shot the ball at a 42% (5/12) clip from the field but hit 60% (3/5) from beyond the arc.

The Wildcats were up 13 points on Oregon at the start of the fourth quarter, but that did not last long. The Ducks roared back to send this game to overtime with a layup in the final 11 seconds. Overtime went back and forth, but in the final seconds, Oregon made a layup to give Arizona their second loss of the season.

Arizona shot 43% (26/60) from the field and 45% (9/20) from deep but struggled at the line, only making 50% (5/10) from the free-throw line.

Arizona turned the ball over more than they usually do, finishing the game with 16 turnovers. Those turnovers led to the Ducks scoring 13 points off of turnovers.

On the glass, it was almost even with Arizona, winning the boards by one (35-34). On the offensive side, the Ducks capitalized on their offensive rebounds 10 points off of second-chance points.

The Wildcats look to bounce back at home against Utah on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.
