10 things you should know when attending UA’s Spring Fling

If you’re planning on attending Spring Fling there are a few things you should know. Daily Wildcat Arts& Life Editor Pascal Albright outlined the essentials to be aware of before attending the carnival on the UA Mall.

1. Spring fling hours of operations are Friday, April 12 from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., Saturday, April 13 from a.m. until 11 p.m., and Sunday, April 14 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

2. General admission is $5, but discounts are available for UA students, military ID holders and children under 7 years old. Admission sales will also close everyday one and a half hours before closing.

3. Spring fling will offer no refunds for admissions, wristbands, ride tickets or clear bags. This includes any situation that may cause the closure of Spring Fling.

4. Attendees should be prepared for bag searches if bags are brought in. A solution is clear bags or no bags at all.

5. Some bags that are not allowed at Spring fling are large purses, briefcases, luggage, camera bags, computer bags, mesh bags, straw bags and diaper bags. All contents should be in a clear bag or a bag smaller than a clutch purse.

6. Service animals are allowed in Spring Fling, however if they are not trained or not a service animal they may not be permitted at the festival.

7. No outside food or drinks are permitted at the festival with an exception to sealed water bottles and health related items.

8. Prohibited items include air horns, large umbrellas, any weapons, hoverboards, roller skates, skateboards and bicycles. The carnival also has a no personal drones policy.

9. Because this is a university event, the use of tobacco products and nicotine are prohibited. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco.

10. Anyone attending the event is subject to follow all university rules and regulations, even if you are not a student or active member of the university community.
