The Student Recreation Center was evacuated twice between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday after the alarm sounded.
“”It’s probably just a dust build-up on one of the sensors,”” said a Student Recreation Center on-duty supervisor, who requested to not be named.
The first evacuation occurred at 7:40 p.m. and lasted about 20 minutes. The second evacuation occurred at 8:10 p.m. and lasted between 10 and 15 minutes.
“”We just evacuated it according to our emergency evacuation plan,”” the supervisor said.
The supervisor noted that the RecCenter had someone working on the problem.
