LOS ANGELES — Top seed Wisconsin beat No. 2 seed Arizona men’s basketball 85-78 in the Elite Eight to reach its second straight Final Four at the Wildcats’ expense.
Arizona finishes the season 34-4 and their season ends in Southern California at the hands of a Big Ten team for the third season in a row.
The Badgers made 10 3-pointers in the second half, after making two in the first and and trailing 33-30 at the half.
Arizona forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scored 17 points and had eight rebounds.
Arizona shot 56 percent from the floor, 33 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 93 percent from the charity stripe. Wisconsin shot 56 percent from the field, 67 percent from deep and 74 percent from the foul line.
Wisconsin forward Sam Dekker scored 27 points on 8-for-11 shooting, 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. Frank Kaminsky scored 29 points on 9-20 shooting and grabbed six rebounds.
Arizona point guard T.J. McConnell scored 14 points and had five assists in his final collegiate game. Center Kaleb Tarczewski scored 11 points.
