To tee off the 2017-2018 men’s golf season the Arizona Wildcats will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the William H. Tucker Invitational. Arizona head coach Jim Anderson announced to the media Wednesday, September 20 which golfers from the team will be traveling to New Mexico.
Competing for Arizona will be senior George Cunningham, junior Dylan Stein, sophomores David Laskin and Brad Reeves, and freshman Trevor Werbylo. Senior Toppie Hogan, junior Travis Fredborg and freshman Tianlang Guan will be joining the team as individuals in the competition.
The tournament will be played over the course of two days on Friday September 22nd and Saturday September 23rd. On Friday, teams will play in two rounds (36 holes) and end with one final round (18 holes) on Saturday.
The William H. Tucker Invitational hosts a total of 17 teams. Universities from all around the nation will be competing this weekend including fellow Pac-12 members Colorado, Washington and Washington State.
Tee times started Friday morning at 7:45 a.m. After the first round of the tournament the Wildcats finished tied for fourth place with CSU-Fullerton. Cunningham led the way for the ‘Cats finishing the first round tied for first place in the individual category with a score of 70 which is two under par.
