Athletes make academic honors list

Four Arizona basketball players were selected as honorable mention picks to the Pacific 10 Conference All-Academic team yesterday.

Men’s basketball walk-on sophomore forward Bret Brielmaier, who has a 3.04 grade point average as a pre-education major, was the lone representative from his squad.

Senior forward Anna Chappell, who has a 3.36 GPA in secondary education, junior guard Linda Pace, with a 3.31 GPA in accounting, and sophomore guard Jessica Arnold, with a 3.23 GPA in pre-business, earned honors from the women’s basketball team.

Student-athletes must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and be either a starter or significant contributor to make the team.

Forum held today on student union fee

Students who wish to learn more or express concerns about the student union fee being proposed by the Arizona Student Unions can attend an open forum tonight.

The event starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Student Union Memorial Center in the Kiva Room. Students can vote April 11 and 12 on whether to pass the fee, which would add $20 a year to student tuition in 2007. The fee would increase by $10 each following year until 2009, when it would reach the maximum $40.
