On Sept. 7, 1993, the Arizona Daily Wildcat reported that the merging of two student activity boards had left two ASUA services, the Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Association and the student helpline, without offices of their own. “”BGALA was not necessarily shut out as a program,”” said BDALA director James Aiken. “”I hope not. …But it reflects very poorly on the progress made within ASUA and on campus to acknowledge the growing numbers of gays and lesbians.””
Also that day, Wildcat movie critic K.C. Conner panned the Patrick Swayze vehicle “”Fatherhood.”” “”What was anyone who participated in this TV-sitcom on the big screen thinking?”” Conner complained. “”If jail time could be given for bad performances, Swayze would be serving a life sentence.””
