Two students were cited for throwing fruit from a third floor dorm room at Cochise Residence Hall, 1018 E. South Campus Drive, Feb. 6, reports stated.
A man told police he had parked his vehicle south of the building and exited when he was nearly struck by an orange.
Police went to the room they believed the fruit was thrown from on the third floor ofthe residence hall. A student occupying the room told police his roommate’s friends, who lived in a different room, had been throwing the fruit.
Police later went to the room and found one of the students. He told police he did throw fruit. He led police to his roommate who also told police he had thrown the fruit.
They told police they thought it would be funny.
Both students were cited for disorderly conduct.
A student’s stolen truck was recovered Feb. 7, reports stated.
The student told police his truck was stolen from the Cherry Street Garage, 1641 E. Enke Drive, some time between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., Feb. 6.
Tucson Police Department officers found the truck at 12:10 a.m., Feb. 7, at 2002 N. Forbes Blvd.
The truck had been stripped and was not drivable. The truck was towed from the parking lot.
Two students were referred to the dean of students for diversion for smoking marijuana Feb. 6, reports stated.
An anonymous student told a resident assistant they could smell marijuana coming from on the rooms in Sky View Residence Hall, 1050 E. Eighth St.
One of the students who lived in the room told police they could come into the room. The police officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana when they entered the room.
Another female student and a man were also in the room.
The two students told police they had smoked marijuana about an hour before police arrived. The student said the man arrived after they had smoked and police allowed him to leave the room.
The students said they smoked a “”blunt”” and disposed of the remnants by flushing them down a toilet.
The student allowed police to search her room and no other drugs or drug paraphernalia were found.
A minor was cited for driving without a passenger who had a valid driver’s license Feb. 6, reports stated.
He was stopped near East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue because the vehicle he was driving had expired registration.
He was unable to give police the vehicle’s registration or proof of insurance. He told police the car belonged to his father.
The driver showed police his instruction permit. The passenger in his car did not posses a valid driver’s license.
The driver was cited and the car was impounded.
A Mexican passport was turned in to police Feb. 6, reports stated.
The passport was found in the Bursar’s Office in the University Services Building, 888 N. Euclid Ave.
A police officer contacted the owner of the passport. She told police she would retrieve the passport at 3 p.m. Feb. 6.
The woman did not pick up the passport at the time she specified and it was placed into safekeeping.
A man was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and speeding Feb. 6, reports stated.
A police officer saw him driving 49 mph in a 35 mph zone going southbound on North Euclid Avenue near East Lee Street around 8:55 a.m.
When the officer tried to stop him, he turned right onto East Drachman Street. He made several more right turns until he stopped at North Sixth Avenue and East Drachman Street.
He told the officer he was trying to get to work.
A records check showed that he had suspended driver’s licenses in Arizona and Utah.
He was cited and released to his mother. His vehicle was impounded.
