STANFORD, Calif. — No. 1 Arizona (21-0, 8-0 Pac-12) defeated Stanford 60-57 in a back-and-forth shootout that came down to the wire Wednesday night at Maples Pavilion.
Junior point guard T.J. McConnell scored 11 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.
Junior shooting guard Nick Johnson had 16 points, while shooting 4-for-9 from the field, and had five boards and four assists on the night.
Sophomore forward Brandon Ashley scored 10 points, three boards and a steal in the contest and shot 3-for-3 from the stripe.
Sophomore guard Gabe York contributed with five points, two assists and a rebound in 16 minutes played.
Freshman forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson continued to show relentless hustle and intensity in his first year as a Wildcat. Hollis-Jefferson ended with eight points, three boards, an assist and a block.
