    Tatum indicted on 2 counts

Sarah Tatum was indicted on March 17, and is being charged with attempted first-degree murder and child abuse.

Tatum, 19, was taken into custody after police determined she had given birth to a 7-pound boy and put him in a plastic bag, according to the police report.

The baby was later diagnosed with hypoxia, an oxygen deficiency, but was released from University Medical Center on March 12, according to a UMC official. The child is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.

“”I can’t say he is normal because he had some agnostic injuries so I can’t say ‘normal,'”” the official said. “”He had progressed to the point where he could be discharged to outside care.””

UAPD was called to Arizona-Sonora residence hall, Feb. 25, in reference to a woman who was bleeding. Upon their arrival Tatum said she had suffered a bloody nose, she later admitted to being six months pregnant and claimed to have miscarried the baby, according to the police report.

Tatum, was interimly suspended from the UA following the incident.
