After a slow start, Arizona men’s basketball improved to 7-0 with a 91-65 win over Gardner-Webb.
The UA used a 27-5 run midway through the first half to pull away. The Wildcats trailed for almost 10 minutes in the first half.
Arizona shot 56 percent from the field, 59 percent from three and 50 percent from the free throw line. Meanwhile, the Runnin’ Bulldogs shot 38 percent, 34 percent from beyond the arc and 58 percent from the line.
Shooting guard Gabe York tied for the game-high 18 points, including three three-pointers. Forward Stanley Johnson also had 18 points, three 3-pointers and eight rebounds.
Center Kaleb Tarczewski had 10 points and seven rebounds. Power forward Brandon Ashley had seven points and eight rebounds before fouling out.
Sixth man Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 11 points and six rebounds.
