    UA prof. to be on Starbucks cup

    The wise words of Dr. Andrew Weil, director of the UA’s Program in Integrative Medicine and a national health guru, will be featured on the backs of Starbucks coffee cups in April, part of “”The Way I See It.”” Weil’s quote is about the importance of being friendly with your body.

    Cook healthier pizza

    Food chemists at the University of Maryland have found that baking pizzas for longer times at higher temperatures could boost antioxidant levels in dough, which could lead to healthier pizzas. The report was presented yesterday at the 233rd national American Chemical Society meeting. The pizza industry was not involved in the research.

    Clean mating

    A U.S. study from University of Texas at Austin found that female rats avoid males whose great-grandfathers were exposed to a common fruit crop fungicide. The females preferred males whose ancestors were “”clean.”” Researchers said this indicates that environmental contamination by humans could alter animal mating behavior.
