So finals are just around the corner. How much stuff have you put off?
(Laughs) Oh, the whole thing.
What do you have left to do, then, specifically?
Everything. I have to write a four-page paper, a four-page analysis on that paper. I have to study for my Italian class, which I haven’t gone to in two weeks. (Laughs) And then I have to, um, yeah, just two more finals that I have to study for.
Double-spaced or single-spaced on those papers?
Oh, double-spaced, so it’s not that bad.
So why did you do all that for yourself?
Oh, actually I work better under pressure.
All right, I like your style. I’m kind of the same way. So what are you least looking forward to doing?
The least? Um …
Is it the analysis of the paper you haven’t written yet?
No, no, not that. I (pauses) actually it’s my Italian final. I have, I’m completely lost in that class.
When was the last time you went? Give me the date.
Um, it was a Friday two weeks ago because I remember I was going to do that right before Thanksgiving break. (Laughs)
So what are you most nervous about for that class?
Oh, just getting a big fat “”F.””
But you’re a freshman so you’ve got like, what, seven more semesters left to get at least a “”C,”” right?
(Laughs) Yeah, I guess. I don’t know. I didn’t study Spanish but now I’m thinking about going back to Spanish.
So if your mom reads this, what would you tell her?
Oh, I would just tell her whatever. It’s Italian and it’s more than you know. (Laughs)
