The University of Utah is expected to join the Pacific 10 Conference after receiving an invitation today, according to ESPN reports.
Utah has announced that a press conference is scheduled Thursday at 1 p.m. to announce its decision.
Since the University of Texas opted to stay put in the Big 12 Conference on Monday and the four other Big 12 schools followed (Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State), the Pac-10 was expected to add Utah which will enable the conference to have a conference championship game in football.
With over two weeks of speculation and only the University of Colorado, who joined the Pac-10 last Thursday, to show for it through Tuesday, Utah will likely be the last of the Pac-10 expansion plan.
