Arizona assistant coach Joe Pasternack has accepted a job as the head coach at University of California Santa Barbara, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

Pasternack served as an assistant under head coach Sean Miller for four seasons. Before his time at Arizona he was the head coach at the University of New Orleans from 2007-2011 and served as an assistant at California from 2000-2007.

He is known as a tenacious recruiter and played an integral role in the recruitment of recent Arizona players Aaron Gordon, Stanley Johnson, Allonzo Trier and Lauri Markkanen.

Per sources, UCSB will officially announce the decision on Friday.
