The epic face-off of the women continues! Yes, that’s right! Women once again rule the track as the Tucson Roller Derby kicks off its seventh season of competition. Saturday marks the beginning of play, with four all-female teams facing off in a round-robin match. Each team will skate against one another in a 60-minute match, broken into 20-minute bouts of constant play.
Taking the track will be Tucson’s very own VICE Squad, Furious Truckstop Waitresses and Copper Queens. Northern Arizona’s Roller Derby team, the Whiskey Row-llers, will also vie for victory for the first time in the league’s history. With a brief intermission featuring the musical stylings of The Bordertown Devils, the night is sure to be one of spectacular skating and strong athleticism.
