Restraining order granted against Olson’s ex wife

Lute Olson’s personal doctor has been granted a restraining order against the coach’s ex-wife.

On the day Olson retired, Oct. 23, his ex-wife, Christine Olson, threatened Dr. Steven D. Knope by placing a target practice sheet with 25 bullet holes in the head and body in his office, according to the restraining order granted Tuesday and obtained by the Arizona Daily Star.

An attempt to obtain the report by the Daily Wildcat on Wednesday afternoon was unsuccessful.

“”Right now we’re just looking into this and we’ll have something later,”” said Gordon James, Christine Olson’s spokesperson, in a phone interview Wednesday evening. “”But we haven’t gotten served or anything yet.””

Christine Olson called Knope’s office three separate times on Oct. 23 to speak to the doctor, but she was told he was busy with patients, according to court documents.

She then went to the office on north First Avenue in mid-afternoon and “”behaved in a threatening manner”” to staff members, according to the order.

After waiting 20 minutes, she walked directly into Knope’s private office and placed the target practice sheet on his desk chair, the report stated.

James said he would know more about the situation today.
