Detectives with the University of Arizona Police Department have identified and arrested a suspect involved in a “surreptitious” recording incident at the University of Arizona Student Recreation Center, located at 1400 E. Sixth St.

The man has been identified as 31-year-old Irving Adrian Bojorquez, who is not affiliated with the university.

Bojorquez had previously been issued an exclusionary order from all UA property, and therefore was not allowed to be at any area on campus.

On Aug. 5, UAPD officers located Bojorquez on campus, where he was interviewed by detectives.

After interviewing with UAPD detectives, he was later arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of third-degree criminal trespass and surreptitious recording/viewing.

Details regarding the specifics of the recording are limited at this time, but the incident occurred at the Student Recreation Center on July 14, 2021, around 5:45 p.m.

UAPD asked the community to remain always remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings, keep buildings secure by making sure to close and lock doors behind you, do not allow unknown people into secured buildings and to report any suspicious activity to UAPD urgently by calling 911, using an emergency blue light phone or via the LiveSafe app.
