Women’s golf team to tee off in match play

The No. 20 UA women’s golf team will hit the links for the last time this fall in the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships, held Sunday through Tuesday in Reunion, Fla.

The event is a bit of a treat for the Wildcats, as they will compete in both a medal play and match play format. On Sunday the team will play 36 holes of stroke play to determine seeding for the match play portion of the tournament.

The Wildcats, led by Senior Amanda Wilson, are No. 7 in the nation in putts on greens in regulation, averaging 1.886 putts per hole for greens reached in regulation. UCLA, ranked No. 1 overall, leads the nation in the putting category at 1.854.
