    UA student arraigned in stabbing case

    UA student arraigned in stabbing case

    The UA student accused of first-degree murder in the stabbing of her roommate was arraigned today at the Pima County Justice Court. Pima County Superior Court Hearing Officer Roger Duncan entered a plea of not guilty on Harrison’s behalf, according to reports by the Associated Press.

    Galareka Harrison,18, was arrested and charged Sept. 5 with first-degree murder for the death of her roommate, Mia Henderson, also 18.

    Harrison is being held at Pima County Jail and appeared at the arraignment via video feed.

    Assistant Public Defender John O’Brien was appointed to represent Harrison.

    Bond is currently set at $50,000. A motion to increase bond to $1 million is scheduled for Oct. 2, though it may be rescheduled for an earlier date.
