The No. 17 Arizona gymnastics team lost to No. 8 UCLA on Sunday, Feb. 4, with a score of 196.525. UCLA won the meet with a score of 198.075. However, Arizona earned season-highs on vault (49.025) and floor (49.025). Alysen Fears scored the highest on all-around out of her team with a score of 39.200. On the other hand, Selena Harris from UCLA won all-around overall with a score of 39.775.
Uneven bars:
In their first rotation, the Wildcats scored 49.100 on uneven bars. Fears made a season-best with a score of 9.900. Sophie Deerr posted a 9.875. Malia Hargrove, Abigayle Martin and Bailey McCabe all earned 9.775. Lastly, Emily Mueller scored a 9.750 to round out the rotation.
Vault:
In the second rotation, the Gym Cats scored a season-best with a score of 49.025 on vault. Martin led the team with a career-high of 9.850. Ainsley Greever, Emma Strom and Jessica Castles each scored 9.800. Hargrove earned a 9.775 and Fears scored a 9.725.
Floor:
Arizona also earned a season-high of 49.450 on floor in its third rotation. Hargrove led the teams with another career-high of 9.925. Caroline Herry and Strom followed with a score of 9.900 each. Mueller posted a 9.875. Elena Deets and Fears both earned a score of 9.850 to finish the rotation.
Beam:
Lastly, Arizona scored 48.950 on beam for its final rotation. Mueller and Deets both led the rotation with a score of 9.850. Herry posted a 9.775 while Castles followed with a score of 9.750. Fears earned a 9.725 and Martin scored a 9.700 to round up the total.
